The Engine Shed is a music and entertainment venue with a 1,500 capacity in its main hall. Launched in September 2006, the venue is part of the University of Lincoln, and opens as a student nightclub after bands have finished performing. The Engine Shed has hosted many high-profile rock bands, including Stereophonics, Babyshambles, Kings of Leon, Kasabian, Athlete, Razorlight and The Damned.
Lincoln Drill Hall is a recently refurbished and modernised entertainment venue with a 500 capacity auditorium. Contrasting with the Engine Shed, which tends to attract big name, established rock acts, Lincoln Drill Hall has become the first-choice venue for up-and-coming bands visiting the city. The site also acts as a cafe during the day and hosts the Lincoln Beer Festival annually.
The Lincoln Performing Arts Centre (LPAC) is a 450-seat multipurpose auditorium designed for live arts performances, conferences, and film screenings. Opened in 2008, this is also part of the University of Lincoln, and the theatre's programme of events is designed to complement, rather than compete with, those of its neighbouring venues. The LPAC also does educational and outreach arts work with local communities, and is home to the Lincoln School of Performing Arts (LSPA).
